Financing the social business
Not all social entrepreneurs are able to raise commercial funding. Many end up falling between two stools when operating in the cross-section of commercial and non-commercial enterprise: social foundations are reluctant to give grants to profit-making companies, and commercial investors hold back because it takes too long for them to create a financial return on investment.
